About Me

Even after they awarded me my PhD in literature, I found it hard to shake the feeling that I was a huge quack, and not even an outstanding one, in a field rife with quackery.  For one thing, I like watching television (and movies) (and reading comic books) (but mostly watching television) WAY too much, and writing academic articles about the ebb and flow of the American novel tradition far too little.  So I got out of that nutty pyramid scheme, with most of my feathers intact. But all of my wild blather –  on what my training in narrative theory can teach us about how popular fictional forms like TV shows really work for us, around us, on us — had to go somewhere.  So it went here.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.        Eternally your servant, &c,

Deuteronomy Canard, PhD
